Archie Comics/Dan DeCarlo(LOS ANGELES) — It’s official: the first child for Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry of the United Kingdom is called Archie. More accurately, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.  Still, the first name was enough for Archie comics, and fans of its CW spin-off, Riverdale.

“I’m baby,” the official Twitter account for the long-running comic book posted almost immediately after the news of the name broke.

“Archie, Earl of Riverdale,” tweeted Netflix Canada.  The streaming service airs another Archie spin-off, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Fans were just as quick to sound off.

“MY DUCHESS IS A RIVERDALE FAN!!!!!!!!! COME ON, ARCHIE!!!” posted one. 

“But Jughead still wears the crown,” another correctly pointed out.

Riverdale airs on Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
