State Senator Aric Nesbitt can add another feather to his cap as he has been named the 2024 Legislator of the Year by the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police.

Nesbitt, who is running for governor, says he’s grateful for the honor, received for his support for law enforcement. However, Nesbitt says the real credit should go to the men and women in uniform who keep communities safe.

In a statement, Nesbitt writes, “These brave men and women are the ones who run into danger while everyone else runs away. They are the ones who are dedicated to keeping our communities safe at the risk of their own lives.” He says they deserve lawmakers who have their backs.
