There’s a need for lighthouse keepers at one Michigan attraction, and it could be a dream come true.

The job involves showing people around the Tawas Point Lighthouse overlooking the Saginaw Bay while living on the lighthouse grounds. They’re looking for four people at a time, working two-week shifts from June through late October.

Donald La Barre, historian for the Michigan History Center, told us they get plenty of visitors.

We could see anywhere north of 200 people per day visiting the lighthouse,” La Barre said. “I’ve seen up to about 300 per day, and then in the shoulder seasons, early in June, leaning more into October, you might see that number dropped out to more 60 people a day.”

The applications to apply are due February 28. Even though you would be working for them, it would cost you $250 a person for the privilege to live in that beautiful lighthouse.
