How are you feeling about all of these grey days we’re having? Health experts say they affect some more seriously.
Some people suffer from seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, from the lack of sunshine.
Priority Health Medical Director Charletta Dennis says you can help by exercising, eating right, and getting a sun lamp, among other things.
“Also things like vitamin D can help boost dopamine and serotonin in the brain,” Dennis said. “Lastly, you want to try to avoid isolating. Surround yourself around people. Make sure that you’re active and you’re being involved in social activity.”
Dennis also advises talking to family and friends or a counselor if needed.
