Lakeshore Public Schools us touting its latest achievement in the area of technical trades education as the automotive program at Lakeshore High School has achieved accreditation.
The district administration says the automotive training program at has received ASE Training Program accreditation by the ASE Education Foundation in the categories of maintenance and light repair. To receive accreditation, the program had to meet national standards in areas like instruction.
Lakeshore automotive instructor Doug Haygood says he and the team have worked closely with the ASE Education Foundation for months to achieve the new designation. He says students will now “be assured of a quality education, and shop owners will be assured of getting quality job applicants.”
The ASE Education Foundation is a non-profit, independent organization that evaluates and accredits entry-level technician training programs against standards developed by the automotive industry.
