With Election Day less than three weeks away, millions of voters have already cast their ballots in early voting. In Michigan, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson has unveiled an online dashboard that’s providing real-time statistics to anyone about voter turnout, trends, and registration.

Benson also says all this data will help combat against disinformation about the voting process.

We’ve all seen the ways that data taken out of context can be used to distort the truth,” Benson said. “That will escalate in the weeks ahead. And we know that as it does, voters will become more and more frustrated as election misinformation becomes increasingly noisier.”

Voters have already been able to visit Michigan.gov/Vote to track their ballots. They can see exactly where their ballot is in the process at all times and learn exactly when it has been accepted for tabulation by their clerk.

There are three ways to sign up — when registering to vote, when submitting an online absentee ballot application, or by visiting Michigan.gov/Vote and clicking on the signup link.
