The placement of a decimal point can make a big difference. Just ask St. Joseph Township leaders.

The township over the weekend sent out a mass text message to residents to inform them of a slight error in a recent Herald Palladium article.

According to the township, the article reported St. Joseph Township’s fund balance was likely to be $16,070.166 at the end of 2025. However, that was incorrect due to the misplacement of a decimal in the figure. The township says the article actually should have said $16,070,166, slightly higher than the $16,000 it reported.

The township’s text message says the St. Joseph Township Board of Trustees “diligently works to manage township funds.” It promises the township’s funds are strong and will remain so.
