FEMA is planning a Flood Map Open House for Van Buren and Cass counties this month to show residents which areas of their counties are most prone to flooding so they can make decisions about developments and purchasing flood insurance.
FEMA will team up with Van Buren County and Cass County emergency management officials for the meeting. They’ll present preliminary flood maps. Homeowners, renters, and business owners throughout the two counties are invited to come and learn more.
FEMA says those in attendance will learn about their specific risk and ways to help prevent flood loss.
The open house will be at the Cass County Board of Commissioners Chambers at 120 Broadway Street in Cassopolis next Tuesday, September 10 from 5 to 7 p.m.
