Michigan continues to get a lot of political visits heading into the November election, and some leaders are asking if healthcare is being brought up enough during these campaign stops.

Dr. Dan Carey is president of Corewell Health’s William Beaumont University Hospital. He invites debate on the topic, with the goal of making sure policies support patients.

“We’re for making sure that the care that we provide is of high quality, that it’s equitable, that it’s the lowest cost possible, and that it’s meeting the needs of the communities we serve,” Carey said.

Former President Trump says he won’t end the Affordable Care Act, instead proposing changes. Vice President Harris is a longtime supporter of the ACA, which partially expires in 2025.
