41 people are riding bicycles from Southwest Michigan to northern Michigan as part of the Thin Blue Ride to remember police officers killed in the line of duty this week.
Andrea Arrington is riding in memory of her brother, Officer Scott Stewart, who was killed in the line of duty.
“My brother was a Detroit police officer and he was killed on August 11, 2002,” Arrington said. “He was shot while trying to retrieve a gun off the street of Detroit.”
Arrington says the ride raises awareness and they honor the officers killed at memorial stops along the way.
The ride started Monday in Stevensville and will end today in Petosky.
