The Berrien County Youth Fair continues today through Saturday in Berrien Springs.
Wednesday featured country star Randy Houser on the grandstand. Youth Fair Manager Karen Klug tells us the shows won’t stop.
“Thursday it’s Direct from Sweden: the music of ABBA, and that’s at 7 ,” Klug said. “The Demolition Derby will take place at 8 on Friday, and Bullmania will be at 7 on Saturday.”
Tickets are available online at the Berrien County Youth Fair’s website, BCYF.us. You can also get them at the fair. Klug warns people not to use third-party websites to buy tickets because those can be fake.
Klug says the displays put on by young people from all over Berrien County are the star attraction at the fair.
“In my mind, that’s first and foremost why they come, but many might tell you that they come to get an elephant ear or a corn dog or just a general fair food that’s offered throughout the grounds. We also have many commercial exhibits this year.”
All kinds of foods are available, and in abundance, at the fairgrounds. A popular selection on Wednesday was the Berrien Springs corndog, the line for which was about a country mile long. The rides are all running, there’s live music, and you can see young people show off their skills on horseback.
More than 100,000 people are expected to pass through the fairgrounds this week. And remember — the fair comes but once a year.
