Mamma mia! Hot on the heels of the announcement that Paul McCartney will be headlining the U.K.’s famous Glastonbury festival this summer comes news that prior to that big gig, the ex-Beatles legend will be visiting Italy for a pair of concerts.
The newly announced shows, which are part of Macca’s ongoing Freshen Up tour, will take place June 10 at Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples, and June 13 at Mura Storiche in Lucca.
McCartney hasn’t played a concert in Italy since a June 2013 show in Verona. The last time he performed in Naples was 1991, and the Lucca show will mark his first concert ever in that city.
Tickets for the concerts will go on sale to the general public this Monday, November 25, at 10 a.m. local time, while pre-sale tickets will be available started Friday, November 22, at 10 a.m. local time. Visit PaulMcCartney.com for more details.
As previously reported, Sir Paul will give a headlining performance on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage on Saturday, June 27, which will be nine days after his 78th birthday.
