Credit: Mark WeissEarlier this month, The Doobie Brothers announced a special concert — featuring full performances of their second and third albums, Toulouse Street and The Captain and Me — September 12 in San Francisco. Now the veteran rockers have unveiled plans to stage the show in Nashville this fall.

The group’s newly added full-albums performance will take place November 18 at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Tickets for the event go on sale to the general public this Friday, July 26, at 10 a.m. CT via Ticketmaster.com. A pre-sale will be available starting Tuesday, July 23, at 10 a.m. CT.

The Doobies first played Toulouse Street and The Captain and Me in their entirety at two concerts in New York City last November. Those shows were recorded for the recently released concert album and home video Live at the Beacon Theatre, which came out last month as a two-CD set, a two-CD/DVD package, a Blu-ray and digitally.

Toulouse Street and The Captain and Me were released in 1972 and 1973, respectively, and included such well-known tunes as “Listen to the Music,” “Rockin’ Down the Highway,” “Jesus Is Just Alright,” “Long Train Runnin'” and “China Grove.”

As they did at the Beacon Theatre concerts, the band will also play select hits from their catalog at the Nashville and San Francisco performances.

As previously reported, The Doobie Brothers currently are serving as the support act on Santana‘s Supernatural Now North American tour, which is plotted out through an August 25 show in Wantagh, New York.

The group then will begin a run of headlining dates scheduled from a September 11 performance in Livermore, California, through the Nashville concert.
