
Everyone is safe following a smoke incident at a residence in Casco Township on Friday morning.
South Haven Area Emergency Services was called to the home at 111th Avenue around 9:20 a.m. after a wood burner in the kitchen overheated, causing smoke to fill the house.
Fortunately, the smoke alarms alerted the occupants, allowing them and their pet to evacuate without incident.
The fire caused no damage, but firefighters stayed on the scene for about an hour to clear the smoke from the home.
