It was mixed bag for Super Bowl advertisements this year, according to a panel of MSU professors that gathered to judge all of the commercials during the Big Game.
Professor Bob Kolt says the key to a successful ad is usually to lean into humor.
“I think the key formula of being fun and funny will always be a requirement for the Super Bowl,” Kolt said. “But there were some serious ads that penetrated too. The breast cancer awareness spot was really good.”
Kolt says the best ad was the Michelob Ultra “Pickleball Hustle.” He says the worst were the movie trailers.
