The village of Stevensville invites the community to contribute their ideas for the downtown area’s future. With the reinstatement of the DDA, the organization is eager to gather input on what residents envision for their community.

Director of Membership & Events at the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber Sara Spoonholtz tells us the event will help the village better focus its future direction.

“So for the Village of Stevensville, because they have gone through with becoming a redevelopment ready community or an RRC, the DDA is really a kind of a key step for that development and that ability to go forward with the certification process,” Spoonholtz says.

This Tuesday, community members can join and discuss proposals to develop a long-term plan for the revitalization of downtown Stevensville.

“They’re really just looking for any input whatsoever on everything from public parking lots to pedestrian and bike and vehicle safety opportunities, downtown events, business and park development, as well as other financial incentives and support for the business community,” Spoonholtz says.

The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Village Hall, located at 5768 St. Joseph Avenue.
