An economics professor believes the United States can pave the way for a renaissance in governance, and it starts with government efficiency.
Dr. Tim Nash leads economic research at Northwood University and says ensuring efficient governance has worked in the past.
“Go back and look at the Grace Commission under president Reagan,” Nash said. “There were some great suggestions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of government. It’s just that there wasn’t the political cooperation that ended up coming to play under President Clinton with a Republican speaker, Newt Gingrich in the House.”
Nash says things like DOGE, or Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, can be done, but there needs to be conviction. He also recommends a 12-year plan, rather than a 4-year plan.
