The Berrien County Road Department has reopened one southern Berrien County road while another remains closed for a culvert replacement project.
Road department spokesperson Adri Boone tells us a stretch of Log Cabin Road that closed on November 21 will stay closed for a while longer.
“So that still remains closed to traffic between Kaiser Road and Warren Woods Road,” Boone said. “Pardee, which closed at the same time, is open now for traffic.”
Pardee Road was also closed between Kaiser Road and Warren Woods Road. Boone says having it back open will make the Log Cabin Road detour easier for drivers. She says the work on Log Cabin remains on track.
“So we do hope that that Log Cabin Road will reopen soon. We are just waiting on some final grading, making sure that guardrail is in place before we open that for vehicle traffic.”
Boone says both of those roads will have to be closed again in the spring for the new culverts to be paved. For now, with Pardee Road back open, she says drivers taking a detour around the Log Cabin Road construction can use Pardee instead of going all the way to Cleveland Avenue.
