United Way of Southwest Michigan

United Way of Southwest Michigan is inviting community members to become part of their Board of Directors or join a dedicated committee. According to President and CEO Anna Murphy, this is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals in Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties.

“We’re always looking for board members and committee members,” Murphy says. “What we decided to do was a little bit more of a process of letting the community know that we’re looking for board and committee members, and maybe somebody from the community that we haven’t even thought of has an interest in serving with United Way.”

The organization is looking for 12-15 individuals to serve on various committees and about 2 to 4 members to join the board. What qualities and skills are they seeking in candidates?

“Someone that will always advocate for United Way’s mission and programs,” Murphy says. “They will be willing to provide leadership through oversight, policy setting, promoting the organization. You know, I want people that have, you know, a strong integrity, commitment.

Applications must be submitted by January 28.
