Police are investigating vandalism and likely arson at a business in Dowagiac.
The Dowagiac Police Department says the vandalism happened in the early morning hours Thursday at Hartman Auto Service at 102 North Front Street. Two vehicles had their tires slashed, including one owned by the business owner, and one vehicle was set on fire.
The police department says it was called to the scene around 3 a.m. when it received a report of a smoking vehicle. When officers arrived, it was on fire and the fire department was called in.
The owners of the business say surveillance video from other nearby properties is available, and that’s being reviewed. They ask anyone with information about the incident to contact the Dowagiac Police Department.
