Lions 34, Bears 17 – Jared Goff throws 3 TD passes as Lions beat Bears 34-17 for franchise-record 13th win
Jared Goff threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns, and the Detroit Lions remained on top of the NFC with their franchise-record 13th win, 34-17 over the Chicago Bears. Jameson Williams had a career-high 143 yards receiving on five catches, including an 82-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 109 yards and a score, and Detroit broke a tie with the 1991 and 2023 teams for the most wins in franchise history. The Lions also set a single-season record for scoring with 493 points, and they improved to 7-0 away from home, a franchise record for road wins.  The Lions took control early against the Bears (4-11), and they even flexed their dominance by executing a trick play in which Goff intentionally stumbled while dropping back. With Detroit players yelling “Fumble!” and Gibbs pretending to dive for the ball, Goff threw to Sam LaPorta for a 21-yard touchdown that made it 34-14. Caleb Williams threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns following a string of shaky performances for the Bears, who lost their ninth in a row and drew more boos from their frustrated fans.

Colts 38, Titans 30 – Jonathan Taylor rebounds with 218 yards, 3 TD runs as Colts hold off Titans 38-30
Jonathan Taylor rebounded from perhaps the most embarrassing moment of his career by rushing for 218 yards and scoring three times, including runs of 65 and 70 yards to lead the Indianapolis Colts past the Tennessee Titans 38-30. Indy rushed for a franchise-record 335 yards. Taylor’s rushing total was the second highest in the NFL this season. It also was the second highest of Taylor’s five-year career and his most TD runs in a game since having four against Buffalo in 2021. Tennessee gave up the most yards rushing in a game since moving from Houston to Nashville. The Titans rallied from a 38-7 deficit by scoring 23 straight points. But Kenny Moore II’s second interception of the game as time expired sealed the win.

NFL – Goff and Lions execute fake-fumble trick play, taking inspiration from Packers
Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions borrowed from Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers to trick the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The moment of deceit came in the third quarter of a 34-17 victory, when the Lions faked a fumble and Goff threw a touchdown pass. Goff intentionally stumbled while dropping back. With Detroit players yelling “Fumble!” and Jahmyr Gibbs pretending to dive for the ball, Goff threw to Sam LaPorta for a 21-yard touchdown that made it 34-14. Two Lions players told ESPN that offensive coordinator Ben Johnson was inspired by a play from last season when the Packers’ Jordan Love fumbled, picked up the ball and completed a deep pass.

NFL – Bears lose 2 more offensive linemen during a 34-17 loss to the Lions
Braxton Jones was surrounded by his teammates as he was loaded into a cart. He gave a thumbs-up as he was driven off the field, and the Soldier Field crowd cheered. It was another tough moment for Chicago’s offensive line — and the rest of the Bears. The protection for Caleb Williams took a big hit when Jones and Teven Jenkins departed in the first half of a 34-17 loss to the Detroit Lions. The rookie quarterback still managed to throw for 334 yards and two touchdowns, but he was sacked twice as he tried to rally Chicago in the second half.
