Private Equity is helping small business owners expand or turn around their company.

This weekend is Small Business Saturday. Did you know small businesses employ nearly half of workers? So it’s important to spend money at those neighborhood stores.

Drew Maloney, president and CEO of the American Investment Council chimed in.

“The economy really is looking to support small businesses, whether it’s local governments, state governments, it’s the federal government,” Maloney said. “A lot of our investment dollars come from state and local pension plans, so they’re supporting the small businesses. So it really is a group effort.”

And it’s working because supporting the goals of entrepreneurs is also supporting healthier communities by creating and keeping jobs locally.
