This will be a record setting Thanksgiving for travel.

AAA of Michigan’s Adrienne Woodland says they expect nearly 2.6 million Michigan residents to travel 50 miles or more for the holiday.

We’re expecting to see record travel numbers across the board with more people taking to the roads, skies, rail, seas,” Woodland said. “Travelers should expect congested roads and longer lines at transportation terminals. And AAA encourages travelers to develop their plan now and also consider travel insurance, which provides compensation for flight cancellations, delays, and lost luggage.”

Nationwide, 79.9 million people are expected to travel.

Woodland says we’re seeing more travelers because of economic growth, declining inflation, and income gains.
