If you’ll be heading to the Upper Peninsula next year, there’s some road work on the Mackinac Bridge.
Bridge Authority assistant bridge engineer Matthew Makarawicz says they’ll be re-paving.
“The northbound lanes will be closed and this will happen whenever weather allows us to,” Makarawicz said. “I’ve heard that this winter is supposed to be a little worse than last winter, but last winter won’t be very hard to beat. So, we’ll be closed whenever weather allows. The only thing that is going to happen in those northbound lanes is that the Pier 34 modular joint will be installed.”
Makarawicz says they’ll maintain traffic in both directions. He says the work should be complete by Memorial Day.
