The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced M-139 between Scottdale Road and John Beers Road in Berrien County is officially open to regular traffic. 

Work started back in May to replace a large culvert under M-139. MDOT spokesperson Nick Schirripa tells us it will now increase the waterway opening for the Big Meadow Drain tributary for more natural creek flow and less obstruction.

Crews are still out cleaning up the work zone and final grading, which is anticipated to be complete in the coming weeks.
