A mixed use commercial and residential development is planned for Oronoko Township.

Cornerstone Alliance says Berrien Crossroads Development, LLC was granted a Commercial Rehabilitation Exemption by the township this week to help recoup some of the cost.

The development involves a phased buildout that will create around 21,000 square feet of commercial space and 235,000 square feet of residential space. The residential units will include new townhomes and apartment buildings. The townhomes will include 12 one-bedroom units and 18 two-bedroom units, while the apartments will be comprised of 12 two-bedroom units and 8 one-bedroom units.

On the commercial side, the development will accommodate 11 retail units, alongside a large retail unit of 2,640 square feet.

Cornerstone helped Berrien Crossroads Development secure the tax break that will freeze the property’s taxes for ten years, which is also how long construction on the development is expected to take.
