A Michigan congressman is bringing more attention to the issue of PFAS chemicals.

Some of those forever chemicals will need to be greatly reduced in drinking water, thanks to a new standard set by the EPA earlier this year.

Congressman Dan Kildee says the Flint water crisis illustrated why clean water is an important issue.

The more we know about PFAS, the more we learn, the more we move forward on this agenda, the more we realize just how big this problem is and how significant the effort will be to deal with this really difficult public health issue.”

Part of that issue is on military installments. Kildee’s recent letter to the U.S. Department of Defense requests a swift response on the agency’s response to PFAS on military sites.
