The Fresh Coast Film Festival is coming up on Thursday in Marquette, focusing on about 85 films to be shown at several venues around town.
Festival Director Aaron Peterson says they’re mostly about the Great Lakes and the environment, but there’s more.
“The news, environmental issues in the Great Lakes, it can get kind of heavy,” Peterson said. “So in order to balance that out, we focus on humor. We profile interesting individuals, people living, kind of marching to their own drum.”
Peterson says there will also be some guided tours of Marquette for those with a weekend pass.
The festival runs through Sunday.
