The fees to use some amenities Silver Beach County Park are going up.
At this week’s meeting of the Berrien County Board of Commissioners, the body approved a new fee schedule for the Dunes Pavilion and the Shadowland Pavilion and a new special event rental agreement for the park.
The board notes Silver Beach County Park is allowed to host up to eight special events with amplified sound at Shadowland each year, which all require extra planning, preparation, and use of county resources. As costs increase, it’s necessary for the county to adjust what organizers of these events are charged.
The parks department says the fee to rent Shadowland Pavilion on a weekday will go from $175 to $200 for county residents and from $350 to $400 for non-residents. On weekends, the fee will go from $350 to $375 for residents and $700 to $750 for non-residents.
The weekday fee to rent the Dunes Pavilion is going up from $100 to $125 for residents and from $200 to $400 for non-residents. Likewise, the cost to rent the pavilion on the weekends will rise by $25 for residents and $50 for non-residents.
The last time rental fees for the facilities were increased was in 2016.
