The League of Women Voters of Berrien and Cass Counties has launched a new website to help voters better know the elections they’ll be casting ballots in on November 5.

The league’s Mike Schnable tells us Vote411.org lists hundreds of candidates and races. A user can enter their address on the site to see exactly what will be on their ballot. That’s not all.

Because it’s through the League of Women Voters, we’ve also contacted or reached out to all the candidates for all the races, in this case for Berrien County and Cass County, to have them answer common questions to both candidates,” Schnable said. “Now the candidates answer their questions and they are populated in the website, but the League does not touch them. So, however the candidates answer is what the voters see.”

Schnable says the League has been printing candidate guides for decades, but this is the first time it’s put all of that information online.

The website also enables a user to take part in a simulated Election Day by going through their ballot and actually making selections. Schnable says that makes good practice for the real thing and gives everyone a chance to educate themselves on all of the races.
