The Bridgman American Legion Post 311 is planning a celebration for next month to benefit Bridgman Public Schools.

Post commander Tim Quardokus tells us “A Night from the Past” will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 12.

We’re going to have 60s, 70s, and 80s music,” Quardokus said. “It’s going to have a DJ, and it’s for the Bridgman Educational Foundation as well as we’re wanting to showcase our newly renovated hall.”

Quardokus says the American Legion just finished its renovations, and they’ve been getting rave reviews from the community.

What made the Legion want to support the school district?

We help a lot of the local veterans, but we also want to be good community neighbors. So we wanted to just do something where we could participate with the schools and help the schools.”

In addition to music, “A Night from the Past” will feature a full bar, snacks, and a silent auction organized by the Bridgman Foundation for Educational Excellence. Items up for grabs will include a golf package to Lost Dunes Golf Club, a KitchenAid Stand Mixer, artwork produced by a local artist, hand-crafted pottery, and gift certificates to restaurants.

The event will be $5 to get in, and is for ages 21 and older. Quardokus says you don’t need to get tickets in advance. Just show up and pay at the door.
