The 52nd annual Four Flags Apple Festival is underway in Niles.
Founded in 1972, the apple festival continues to invite the community out to carnival rides, games, food, vendors, nightly entertainment, and of course, apples. Festival President Mike Hubbard says he’s looking forward to this year’s festivities.
“Being in the community, come together and just really enjoy themselves with all the activities that are going on,” Hubbard said.
With fun for everyone, Hubbard pointed to a few things that visitors should check out this year at the festival.
“Definitely the apple products tent. There’s about six different varieties of apples that we sell, two different kinds of cider, and every pastry that you can think of has got apples in it, along with T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats.”
A free apple will be given to all guests.
Festivities include entertainment, concessions, and just about anything apple you can think of. The big grand parade will be held Saturday starting at 1:30 p.m. About 100 floats will be in attendance.
