The Cass County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a shooting suspect.

The department says deputies were called to investigate a shooting in the 18,000 block of State Street in the village of Vandalia just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday. They learned two men had been arguing when it became physical.

One man, a 24-year-old was shot in the foot. The other man fled the scene and remains at large.

Police say the victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries and will recover.

The suspect’s name has not been released, and police say they don’t believe the public is in danger.
