A body pulled from Lake Michigan off Silver Beach on Wednesday has been identified.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department says all indications are that 69-year-old Douglas Charles Greyerbiehl of St. Joseph Township drowned.

The body was recovered around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday. It has been sent to the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine for an autopsy.

The autopsy was done Thursday, but results are still pending.

The sheriff’s department says, “Every indication is that of a drowning and no foul play is suspected at this time.”

The incident remains under investigation pending the autopsy results.
