A Niles man is dead following a crash in Cass County on Sunday. The Cass County Sheriff’s Department tells us more:

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that his deputies of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal traffic crash at the intersection of M-60 and Dailey Rd. in Cass County’s Jefferson Township. This crash occurred on 09/15/2024 at approximately 1020 Hours.

The initial investigation of the crash shows that a Kennedi Webster (19 yr of Hamilton, OH) was the driver of  a vehicle traveling southbound on Dailey Rd., who failed to stop at the stop sign at M-60.  A Michael York (53 yr old of Niles, MI) was the driver of a vehicle traveling northeast on M-60 that was struck by Webster’s vehicle. Kennedi  was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle and three passengers were transported by ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

Seat belt use is unknown at this time. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a contributing factor in this crash.

Assisting on scene were Edwardsburg EMS, Cass Central Fire Dept., SMCAS EMS, and Michigan State Police.
