One Michigan city is set to bring music and cannabis together with a venue that will be the first of its kind.
The Ypsilanti Township Planning Commission has approved the Pipeline Consumption venue, which will be a music venue where the customers can consume marijuana. Township Supervisor Brenda Stumbo says this will benefit the community.
“If you were to ask me, and I’ve been supervisor for 15 years now, that this would ever occur in our community, I would not think it,” Stumbo said. “But I do think it’s a win-win situation for revitalization of a district that definitely hasn’t seen and is in need of revitalization. I think it’s going to be win-win as long as it’s managed properly for the community. And it’s going to generate tax revenue as well as marijuana revenue.”
The venue would be placed on a lot of land off I-94 next to the local water treatment plant.
The developer hopes it will be open by the summer of 2025.
