A ceremony to mark the 23rd anniversary of 9/11 will be held at the Michigan State Police Paw Paw post on Wednesday.
The Scouting America Michigan Crossroads Council is hosting Community Day of Remembrance and Scout Salute events all over the state. They’ll be held in Albion, Bay City, Muskegon, Traverse City, and Paw Paw.
In a promotional video, MSP Director Col. James F. Grady II said it’s important to stop and reflect on 9/11 each year to remember that it brought out the best in America.
“We Michiganders felt the shock of that day alongside the rest of the country,” Grady said. “We stood in solidarity as Americans to support those in need by doing anything we could to aid in the aftermath.”
The Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post will commemorate the day at their post from 8 to 9:30 a.m. with a small ceremony featuring the Boy Scouts.
Events around the state will be livestreamed on Facebook, and you can learn more right here.
