Galien River County Park in New Buffalo has been closed due to damage from a storm last week.

The Berrien County Parks Department says the August 27 storm resulted in fallen trees on the Tree Canopy Walkway, the lower boardwalk, and other areas around the park. The real problem is the fallen trees on the elevated canopy walkway and the boardwalk, which takes visitors out through a wetland and to the Galien River.

The park is now closed until further notice while repairs are done.
