Former President Donald Trump was in Michigan Tuesday.

Trump visited the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department to give a speech about crime and immigration. Livingston County Sheriff Mike Murphy called the event a news conference and asked everyone to be respectful ahead of the event.

Folks tend to be very, very passionate about politics, tend to be very passionate about former president Trump, whether it’s a passionate yay or whether it’s a passionate nay,” Murphy said. “So, whether you plan on coming to cheer or whether you plan to jeer, I would ask this, please, please, please be respectful.”

Trump spoke about immigration, crime, and the economy, issues shown by polls to be strong for him.

Trump’s visit comes as Democrats meet in Chicago this week for their national convention. Among those speaking at the convention will be Governor Gretchen Whitmer and former President Barack Obama.
