Part of Upton Drive in St. Joseph will close next week as part of the city’s ongoing reconstruction project of the road.

The city engineer’s office says Upton Drive from Momany Drive to Virginia Court will be closed starting Monday for the rest of the week. Access to the Marina Drive and Virginia Court intersection will be shifted to the south via Whitwam Drive to Upton Drive.

Kalin Construction is nearing completion of the underground work at the intersection of Upton Drive, Marina Drive, and Virginia Court. Kalin expects to build the road base in the intersection next, which will allow the company to shift to the third and final phase on Monday.

The city says water service work and the final water main connection will also be completed next week.
