Rite Aid is leaving Michigan entirely, closing 170 stores in the state.
The company confirmed this week it’s made the decision to shut down all Michigan locations, along with most Rite Aids in Ohio.
Rite Aid stores in Southwest Michigan include locations in Coloma, Berrien Springs, Hartford, Dowagiac, Buchanan, Niles, and Cassopolis. All the company’s Michigan stores will close by the end of September.
Customers should contact their local store to find out where their prescriptions are being transferred. They can choose another pharmacy if they wish.
Rite Aid declared bankruptcy in October of last year due to slow sales and opioid lawsuits.
It’s so far closed more than 500 stores nationwide.
