Congressman Bill Huizenga doesn’t think Kamala Harris replacing Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket for president will do much to change the race.

Now that Biden has spoken about his decision to step down, Huizenga tells us he doesn’t really think it was Biden’s decision.

Lots of palace intrigue, frankly,” Huizenga said. “The reports are emerging about how he really was kind of forced out by Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama and some other folks like that. So sort of a palace coup behind all this, and just his candidacy has a lot of twists and turns as it is. But Kamala Harris, I think was the only direction that they could go, and frankly, a lot of people were split on that.”

Huizenga says Harris will still be running on the Biden administration’s record, which he doesn’t believe is impressive. He says Donald Trump’s campaign has not been complicated by the recent developments.

Speaking of Trump, Huizenga was at the Republican National Convention last week and tells us people got to see the human side of Trump they normally don’t see. He described the convention one of the more unifying conventions he’s attended.
