Democrats in Michigan are weighing in now that former President Trump has made his vice presidential pick official at the convention.

Trump’s running mate is Ohio Senator J.D. Vance.

Speaking in Detroit, Senator Debbie Stabenow says Vance is supportive of a national abortion ban.

“He clearly does not understand in Michigan all the work that went together to put into our Michigan Constitution protections for our freedoms to make our own health care decisions,” Stabenow said. “He’s also supportive of eliminating the Affordable Care Act.”

Stabenow and others are trying to keep the focus on Vance and Trump as turmoil continues in the Democratic Party about whether President Joe Biden should drop his reelection bid.
