Corewell Health says its facilities are open and available to the public, despite the global tech outage.

Corewell has issued a statement, saying “Many of our computers and systems are affected by the current global technology issue. Our teams are assessing the situation and working together to care for our patients. Our hospitals and emergency rooms are open. Some procedures and appointments might be delayed.”

Some services are Corewell may have affected by the tech outage, but the health system’s IT staff is working to get everything back to normal.

Anyone with questions could contact their doctor’s office. For updates, anyone can check CorewellHealth.org.

From the Associated Press — A global technology outage grounded flights, knocked banks offline and media outlets off air after a faulty software update disrupted companies and services around the world and highlighted their dependence on just a handful of providers. Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said the trouble with the update it issued that was affecting computers running Microsoft Windows was not a security incident or cyberattack. It said a fix was on the way. But hours later, the disruptions continued and escalated. Long lines formed at airports in the U.S., Europe and Asia as airlines lost access to check-in and booking services at a time when many travelers are heading away on summer vacations. Hospitals and doctor’s offices had problems with their appointment systems, and cancelled surgeries.
