Berrien RESA is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the Brandywine Community Schools Board of Education.

The Brandywine board this month deadlocked on appointing someone to serve for the remainder of Angela Seastrom’s term. She resigned due to moving outside of the district.

Under Michigan law, if a school board can’t fill a vacancy within 30 days, the matter goes to the county’s intermediate school district, which in this case is RESA.

Now RESA says it’s taking applications of intent from those wishing to serve. The form is on RESA’s website and will be available through the end of business on July 26.

The RESA Board will review the applications and interview candidates during a special meeting on July 30. It expects to make an appointment at that time.

You can find the application right here.
