A multi-brand collection of limited-edition Rolling Stones merchandise has gone on sale at New York luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman. The launch coincides with the band’s No Filter Tour stops early next month in nearby East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The items, most of which feature The Stones’ famous lips-and-tongue logo, include t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, luggage, a scooter, beverage containers, notebooks, a baby carrier, lipstick, iPhone cases, Apple Watch bands, jewelry and more.
In addition, fresh-baked Ladurée macarons in Stones-branded packaging will be delivered to the store daily.
A large sculpture depicting variations of the Stones logo is also on display at the store. A video of the installation being created and brought to the store has been posted on the band’s social media pages.
“The tongue is almost like the Nike of the music industry,” Robbie Owens-Russo, a creative director for Bravado merchandising, tells The Hollywood Reporter. “It is this iconic thing that doesn’t even need the word ‘Rolling Stones’ next to it.”
Owens-Russo also reveals that Mick Jagger gave his blessing to all of the merch featured in the collection.
“Mick signs off on everything,” he says. “It’s refreshing, actually, to have him so involved. We’ll work on everything, get a presentation to him, and then he’ll sign off.”
The items will be available at Bergdorf Goodman through August 13. The collection will also go on sale at stores in Los Angeles and Miami to coincide with The Rolling Stones concerts in those areas.
