The 2019 edition of the Allman Brothers Band-founded Peach Music Festival gets underway today at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, ex-Allman Brothers guitarist Warren Haynes, Phish frontman Trey Anastasio, founding Allmans drummer Jaimoe, and Blues Traveler are among the dozens of artists performing at this year’s event, which runs through Sunday, July, 28.
Lesh will play two headlining sets at the festival on Sunday with his Phil Lesh & Friends project, which will feature Haynes, Bruce Hornsby and the Range drummer John Molo and respected jazz guitarist John Scofield. Haynes also will perform as a duo that day with singer Grace Potter.
Anastasio’s solo band will headline Saturday’s event, which also will feature Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band and Bob Marley‘s son, Stephen. The String Cheese Incident will play headlining sets tonight and Friday. Friday’s bill also includes Blues Traveler and Allman Betts Band — the new group featuring Devon Allman, Duane Betts and Berry Duane Oakley, the respective sons of founding Allman Brothers Band members Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts and Berry Oakley.
